Pharmacies have had over 100,000 patients referred to them by NHS 111 since the CPCS was launched on October 29.
A number of pharmacies have reported being “surprised” at some of the CPCS cases referred to them by NHS 111 call handlers.
Pharmacies in England received over 17,000 referrals through the consultation service during the first two weeks.
Over 1,000 pharmacies have signed up to deliver the CPCS since registration began on September 2, the pharmacy minister said.
The first details have been released about the Community Pharmacist Consultation Service.
Following a successful initial pilot in the North East, NHS England is extending the Digital Minor Illness Referral Service pilot to London, Devon and the East Midlands.
