Superdrug has appointed one of its regional managers to the position of pharmacy superintendent.
The appointment of Rachel Jones, who has been with the chain for nine years, was announced on Wednesday August 12.
Ms Jones previously managed clinical, operational and commercial performance for 23 Superdrug pharmacies, and before that spent two years in a regulatory compliance position at the company.
She joined as a trainee pharmacist in 2017, becoming an independent prescriber in 2025.
Ms Jones said:"It is an honour to be appointed pharmacy superintendent at Superdrug. Having grown my career within the business over the past nine years, I've seen first-hand the important role our pharmacy teams play in supporting the health of our customers and communities.
"Community pharmacy continues to evolve, with pharmacists playing an increasingly important role in delivering accessible healthcare.
“I look forward to working with colleagues across the business to build on our robust clinical standards, support our pharmacy teams and continue expanding the innovative healthcare services we offer our patients."
Superdrug pharmacy director Craig Watt commented: "Rachel has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout her career at Superdrug and has played a pivotal role in strengthening our clinical governance and healthcare offering.
"Her experience across community pharmacy, digital healthcare and clinical excellence makes her ideally placed to lead our pharmacy profession as we continue to expand our healthcare services."
