Alliance Healthcare staff raise over £40k for children’s charities

Staff at Alliance Healthcare completed a gruelling cycle race across the UK to raise over £40,000 for two charities that are focused on improving the health and wellbeing of children all over the world.

The event, known as the Tour D’Alliance, saw teams cycle over 1,000km from the starting line in two areas, Coatbridge in Scotland and Exeter, before making their way to Alliance Healthcare’s Leigh service centre in Greater Manchester.

The wholesaler, who raised funds for Vitamin Angels UK and Theodora Children’s Charity, said the money will go towards funding food for 12 nurseries across the country. Sixteen staff members also competed in a virtual challenge over seven days which also saw them cover 1,000km.

“I am so incredibly proud of my cycling team mates for their physical and mental endurance, particularly during this heat-wave and amidst some challenging winds in the north of England. It is for such a worthy cause, and we are so grateful for all the generous sponsorship and donations, it really kept us going,” said Alliance Healthcare operations director Matt Addison who took part in the event which was sponsored by LCM Group, SMI, Mertrux, LF&E, Driver Hire Nationwide, Blue Arrow and Lexmark.
