RoE guest speaker announced
Training Matters (TM) is extremely excited to announce Kate Allatt as the guest speaker for The Recognition of Excellence Awards 2019.
Eight months after being diagnosed with locked-in syndrome following a brainstem stroke at the age of 39, Kate Allatt defied the medical odds and walked out of hospital. Since then, she's written an internationally-published book based on her experiences, founded a charity and has been awarded an honorary doctorate from Sheffield Hallam University for her work in stroke advocacy and research.
Kate remains a determined, tireless advocate and activist for anyone around the world affected by locked-in syndrome and is currently working on a feature-length film documenting her experiences, entitled Still Me.
TM looks forward to welcoming Kate to The RoE Awards in June, where her messages of determination, healthcare communication and resilience will certainly resonate.
