A pharmacist who was caught riding a motorbike at 115mph in a 50mph zone on the Isle of Man has been told to pay a fine or spend 40 days in prison.

Faiz Shahzad Ismail, of Yarm Road in Stockton-on-Tees, who is on the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) register, was fined £500 and ordered to pay £125 in prosecution costs at Douglas Courthouse yesterday, according to Manx Radio.

Ismail was also disqualified from driving for three months and told to take an extended driving test having been stopped by police on the A3 Road, the island’s longest route spanning about 25 miles. He reportedly broke the speed limit between Ballacraine Crossroads and Douglas Road Corner in Kirk Michael.

Independent Community Pharmacist has asked the GPhC if it has contacted Ismail about the incident.
